A+ School of Excellence, 2018-2021
The Arizona Educational Foundation has named Rogers Ranch School an A+ School of Excellence.™ The program recognizes schools that demonstrate high achievement while identifying and meeting the academic and non-academic needs of their student population. M.C. Cash submitted an application describing their programs and practices, parent and community involvement, and their commitment to excellence, equity, and service. The A+ School of Excellence™ selection committee; comprised of award-winning principals, teachers and community leaders; visited the school. Rogers Ranch was presented with $500 and a banner designating it as an A+ School of Excellence.™
Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Systems-Silver Award, 2019
Rogers Ranch has been recognized with the PBISaz Silver Achievement Award. This award recognizes schools for successful implementation and measurable student outcomes with school-wide systems of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). Award levels are based on time participating in PBIS as well as measured student improvement.
AZ MESA Day, 1st Place, 2018, 2019
Rogers Ranch’s MESA Team took first place at the state competition and advanced to the National Competition in 2018 and 2019.
Milken Educator Award, Principal Tim Thomas
Rogers Ranch Principal Tim Thomas received a surprise when Mr. Lowell Milken of the Milken Education Foundation presented him with the prestigious Milken Educator Award. The award took place during a school assembly which Mr. Thomas thought was an Arizona Department of Education event to launch STEM initiatives. In addition to being recognized for his instructional leadership and mentoring, Thomas was awarded $25,000. He is among the 35 honorees to receive this award across the nation for 2016-17 and the only one from Arizona.

Rodel Exemplary Principal Award, Principal Tim Thomas
Maricopa County School Superintendent Steve Watson surprised Rogers Ranch principal Tim Thomas on campus with the Rodel Exemplary Principal Award. Thomas was one of only eight principals across the state to receive this honor. The Rodel Exemplary Principal award recognizes leaders with a documented history of student achievement growth, a positive school culture, and an active engagement of parents and community. “These school leaders are shining examples of the professionalism and skill that we need to push education in Arizona to the next level,” said Maricopa County School Superintendent Steve Watson. “And as Rodel Exemplary Principals, they will help to develop the next generation of Arizona’s school leaders.” Recipients of the award go on to mentor Aspiring Principals over a two-year period.
Outstanding Student Achievement
Rogers Ranch School was recognized for outstanding student achievement as demonstrated on Arizona’s 2014 A-F Letter Grade Accountability System. Rogers Ranch School received 62 growth points, which is a 37 point increase from 2013. The growth score represents the average academic growth of all students and the bottom quartile students.
