Adolescent Vaccinations
Eleven-year-old children entering into 6th grade are required by Arizona state law to obtain two adolescent vaccines. If your eleven-year-old child does not have these new, required vaccines, they will not be able to start school on Monday August 3. Children who are not yet eleven will be required to get the new immunizations once they turn eleven.
These new immunizations are important as they will provide protection against serious illness. One shot is a Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis combination called TdaP and the second shot protects against meningitis and is called Menactra or MCV4.
Please review your child’s immunization record. If your child has not received theses vaccinations please have them be seen by their physician or attend one of the many free shot clinics around the Phoenix area. You will find information on free clinic locations at 602.506.6767.
Students who do not have these new, required shots will not be allowed start school.
